The Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) is the first of the legal documents which must be completed (I help you with this) and lodged/signed with me at least one month prior to the date of the marriage or up to 18 months prior. Once a deposit is paid and this notice is completed the date and time for your ceremony is secured in my diary.
To complete the NOIM your original Birth Certificates or passports as well as your driver’s licenses must be sighted by me. Divorce absolute papers or death certificates of former spouses (if relevant) must also be presented before the paperwork is complete.
The rest of the legal paperwork is completed as the process progresses to the big day! Following the ceremony I will register the marriage with the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages and if you wish I can order your registered marriage certificate on your behalf. This is the certificate you require to change one of your surnames to your partners.
